We are proud that Simone O’Brien has agreed to support the Magpie Nest Women’s program as an ambassador.

Simone is a domestic violence survivor and advocate for domestic violence prevention.

Magpie Nest is operated in partnership with the Salvation Army Project 614 Team.

Our women’s program provides a safe home and support services for women who are homeless. Many women in the program are victims of domestic violence, the leading cause of homelessness for women and their children.

Sadly, during the Covid-19 Pandemic incidents of domestic violence are increasing. In Australia, on average, one woman per week is killed by a current or former partner.

Simone’s story of determination, resilience, courage and strength is inspirational.

The club will be working with Simone to champion non-violence against women and children.
