Collingwood’s netball team has had a busy off-season, choosing to spend their time on Zoom with aspiring groups of netballers.

Molly Jovic, Gabi Sinclair, Jacqui Newton, Melissa Bragg and Kelsey Brown have done an amazing job at explaining what it takes to become a professional netballer and compete at the highest level.

Across a series of 8 calls with a variety of schools and local netball associations, the athletes provided groups of kids with an insight into their journeys, dealing with the challenges of being a professional and how girls should go about accessing the different pathways into the sport.

One of the best parts about the sessions, was the ability for the kids to pose questions to the athletes in a safe and honest forum.

It was fantastic to see the engagement the athletes achieved with these groups, with a lot of the participants now new fans of the sport, and the Collingwood Magpies.
