For 28 years now, Collingwood and Carlton’s face off at the MCG has been donned the Peter Mac Cup.

During this time, more than $1 million has been raised over the years for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation through the Cup.

With no games at the MCG in 2020, the Peter Mac Cup was not able to go ahead. Instead, we invite our community to unite in the fight against cancer by joining Peter Mac’s annual flagship event – UNITE TO FIGHT CANCER.

Each October, thousands of Peter Mac’s passionate supporters come together in a walk or ride to raise vital funds to for cancer research. Due to the exceptional circumstances this year, Unite to Fight Cancer 2020 will be a special virtual event where you can do it your way through a 60km walk or 200km ride over ten days between 15 and 24 October.

The Fundraising and Philanthropy Director at Peter Mac, Carl Young, says this year’s funding for cancer research is more important now than ever.

“Here at Peter Mac, we’ve been focused on continuing to provide outstanding care to our patients, who are among the most vulnerable to COVID-19, as well as continuing our life-saving cancer research. The vital funds raised through Unite to Fight Cancer help provide the resources and technologies needed to accelerate life-saving cancer research at Peter Mac.”

“We have a number of event participants currently going through their own cancer journeys, and we want as many people as we can to unite beside them in what has been a particularly challenging year for them”.

Join us and you’ll get to connect with other like-minded Peter Mac supporters, while improving your personal mental and physical wellbeing. Plus, you’ll be provided you with all the support you need – fundraising advice, coaching and handy downloads – to help you through your fundraising and your challenge.
